UA’s Yea, Alabama! Weeks of Welcome is a large series of programs hosted by the university to help first year and transfer students in their transition to academic and student life at the Capstone. The official days of Yea, Alabama! 2019 are Saturday, August 17 through Thursday, August 29. Yea, Alabama! is only three weeks, but the possibilities are endless!

All Yea, Alabama! events are FREE for all University of Alabama students. Just bring yourself and we’ll provide everything else!
No. We are a department on campus whose sole purpose is to create a space for students to connect outside of the classroom. All you have to do is show up!
All new students are encouraged to attend Yea, Alabama! Attending Yea, Alabama! events is the best way to meet people and become better acquainted with campus and university resources before classes start. Each day features key events designed to meet the diverse interests of UA students. Taking full advantage of Yea, Alabama! will help you get the best start at the University of Alabama!
Although there is no penalty for missing Yea, Alabama!, you are encouraged to attend as many events as you can. Yea, Alabama! activities are designed to meet the needs of new students and help them become more familiar with the campus, community and other UA students.
Although many Yea, Alabama! activities may conflict with recruitment or other events, there are a number of activities offered at various times. You should still be able to attend some events even if you are involved in other activities during the week.
Students living off-campus are welcome to attend any of the Yea, Alabama! events. Please see the Yea, Alabama! schedule for times, locations and transportation recommendations. We recommend that off-campus students park in their designated parking lots and utilize Crimson Ride to get to the events.


A University Programs information table will be available at Capstone Connections during every Bama Bound orientation session. Students will receive a complete schedule of events when they arrive on campus. In addition, the schedule will be posted around campus and on all social media platforms @UAWhatsUP. The Yea, Alabama! schedule is also available online.
Guidebook is a quick and easy app for keeping up with our Yea, Alabama! events. Just go to your iOS/Google Play app store and search Bama Bound. Download the app and search for University Programs. Download our guide and you’re good to go!
Each year the UA Center for Service and Leadership kicks off the new school year with a service project aimed at engaging new students. Ripple Effect is a chance for students to get to know their community, their fellow classmates and the Center for Service and Leadership through a day of service. Ripple Effect is planned in conjunction with Yea, Alabama! and serves as a signature event to help students get connected to campus. University Programs Events

Check in is easy with our new system! Just make sure to bring your smartphone to the check-in table, enter, follow the instructions on the screen, and you’ll be good to go! Valid MyBama credentials are required for check-in. Our staff is always available to answer any questions you might have about the check-in process.

Yes! We host our Tide After Dark series every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the fall and spring semesters featuring events such as watch parties, tailgates, comedy shows, Mardi Gras, Fright Mania, and more.
