For us, campus event programming is a major contributor to the culture and community that make up the University of Alabama. By planning and executing events designed by students of various classifications, majors, and communities, our on-campus reach can be broad, inclusive, and impactful. But at the end of the day, the most important thing to us is that students feel excited about and included in the events we host.
University Programs fosters community and maximizes student development through campus-wide events implemented by UA students.
The vision of University Programs is to be the central location for all on-campus programming. We will share our resources with other campus departments, student organizations and community partners to assist them in the planning, promotion and implementation of their events. In addition, we will engage students through programs to play a more active role in their experience and education at the Capstone.
Tied with the Tide – In conjunction with The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Tied with the Tide is a program for all students participating in early move in due to various activities to make new friends and learn about various resources at the Capstone.
Yea, Alabama! Weeks of Welcome – Yea, Alabama! is a large series of programs to help first year and transfer students in their transition to academic and student life at the Capstone.
Tide After Dark – This event series features alcohol-free events every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during the fall and spring semesters. Past events have included Fright Mania, Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt, Stress Free Daze, movie nights, and Mardi Gras.
