For us, campus event programming is a major contributor to the culture and community that make up the University of Alabama. By planning and executing events designed by students of various classifications, majors, and communities, our on-campus reach can be broad, inclusive, and impactful. But at the end of the day, the most important thing to us is that students feel excited about and included in the events we host.
We create engaging events wheres all students feel welcome, find support, and build community.
The vision of University Programs is to be the central location for all on-campus programming. We will share our resources with other campus departments, student organizations and community partners to assist them in the planning, promotion and implementation of their events. In addition, we will engage students through programs to play a more active role in their experience and education at the Capstone.
Tied with the Tide – In conjunction with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Tied with the Tide is a program for all students participating in early move in due to various activities to build community and learn about various resources at the Capstone.
Weeks of Welcome – Weeks of Welcome (WOW) is a large series of programs coordinated by University Programs to help first year and transfer students in their transition to academic and student life at the Capstone. These events are free and open to all UA students and serve as the university’s official welcome back to campus each fall semester.
UP Engage– This programming series features events four times per week during the fall and spring semesters. Our events are designed to help UA students find their place on campus, build community, and gain a broad understanding of the UA experience. These events are designed by students and focus on key engagement areas to provide a holistic experience for all students.
