UP FAQs

Some of our favorite events are ones that we put on in collaboration with other organizations on campus! Find more information about how we can market and plan your organization’s event on our Event Application page.

We work really hard to bring events to campus that UA students will love! If you have an idea for something that you’d like to see on campus, email us at universityprograms@sa.ua.edu to let us know.

Any student of the University of Alabama, freshman through graduate level, is welcome to attend any University Programs event! If you’ve got friends or parents in town, they are more than welcome to join in on the fun—attendees just need to be accompanied by a UA student.

University Programs is staffed with student employees who work hard every day to bring innovative events to UA’s campus! If you want to attend any of our events, all you need to do is show up! Don’t forget to bring your phone so you can sign in. Please note: some events do require that you reserve a ticket. You can do that through UP Tix.

University Programs events are free for all UA students! Even better, they usually include food and giveaways.

You can sign in to University Programs events through your phone at event check-in. A UP staff member will be happy to help you once you arrive! Some events require pre-registration, and you can do so through UP Tix.

Our goal is to make sure that all students can enjoy our events! Please send an email to universityprograms@ua.edu to let us know how we can help to make our events more accessible for you, preferably at least 2 weeks in advance.

While we don’t like to reschedule or cancel events, the safety of all members of the University of Alabama community is our top priority. If there is ever a reason for an event to be canceled or rescheduled, we will communicate that through our social media and through emails. Stay up to date with changing weather conditions and University resources during emergency conditions at UA Alerts.

Every event is different—movie nights on Fridays are often smaller, but for many Yea, Alabama! Weeks of Welcome and Thursday night events, attendance is in the hundreds or thousands of students. You’ll definitely see other people you know at UP events, and if not, you’re sure to make new friends on campus!
