Coordinated by University Programs within the Division of Student Life, Weeks of Welcome is the official welcome back to campus for new and returning students. Eight weeks of programs, events, and initiatives aimed at helping all UA students build community, find resources, and get connected at the Capstone. With more than 100 events annually, there is something for everyone.

To keep students engaged and support their long-term success, we are expanding our Weeks of Welcome (WOW) programming to eight full weeks. While our signature events will continue to take place during the first two weeks, this extended format provides increased visibility, sustained opportunities for connection, and a broader range of experiences tailored to the diverse interests of our student body. Our retention data consistently shows that students who participate in at least one WOW event are significantly more likely to persist beyond their first semester. By creating touchpoints throughout the early weeks of the academic year, we aim to build community, foster a strong sense of belonging, and enhance student engagement—critical factors in student success and retention.

WOW 2025 kicks off Sunday, August 17 and runs through Saturday, October 11. All events are free and open to all UA students. The only exception is Script A which is a tradition reserved for our new incoming students. Make sure you follow us on Instagram, X and Facebook so you don’t miss out on any important updates.
